Air Blows On Floor Not In Front Vents

I have heard some people say it is probably a vaccum hose issue.

There is a motor that controls the selection of where the air. Ac only blowing through defrost vent and not coming out of the main front vents. During battery replacement the control module for the mode actuators may lose its memory. The air won t blow out the dash vents.

No air from floor vents or defroster vents only front vents. I have a 1991 s 10. Often this is experienced after replacement of the battery. I get good heat and air conditioning from my front vents but when i select floor or defrost vents the air still only blows from front vents.

Try closing some air vents in bathrooms closets and hallways to see if you get better airflow to the affected room. I can only get air to blow out of the defroster vents or the floor vents no matter if i use heat or a c. Problem started after a trip to south florida it was blowing on and off out of the vents but weak. Had to play with the switch to get it to blow.

If an ac vent is not blowing air in one room in your home then close the vents in other rooms either partially or wholly to improve the airflow to that room. It blows out the floor vent and the defroster vent but it won t change and blow out the dash vent. Ac only blowing through defrost vent and not coming out of the main front vents.
